What's your earliest memory related to music? Not making it, but hearing it - feeling it - understanding rhythm.
"Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel.
My mother must have been obsessed with it because it is absolutely burned into my psyche. I can't hear it without being instantly transported back to 1970. It is my clearest link to myself as a very small child and I can inhabit that person completely when the song is playing.
The other one is 'Autobahn" by Kraftwerk , another of my mum's favourites and on heavy rotation in our house since its inception.
"Dark Side Of The Moon" by Pink Floyd was never too far away either.
It never occurred to me at the time how cool my mum was liking Kraftwerk and the Floyd. I thought everyone's mum listened to spooky futuristic music really loud on a Wednesday night....
