I was listening to 'Mouse Eating Cheese' on the live album the other day and was seeing if you can describe the vocal processes you went through from 3:50-4:20 of the song.
I took a radio broadcast of Richard Wright from Pink Floyd talking about Syd Barrett and his decline into madness and chopped it up into individual syllables. Then I reassembled the tiny pieces in a random order, leaving gaps in order to create the rhythm.
I wanted to use his voice because he had died relatively recently and i wanted to commemorate him in the only way I was able. Remove him from Pink Floyd and you're left with just another boring, hairy, guitar-led prog-rock band, as is demonstrated by 'The Final Cut'.
