Hey Ott! Loved your set at Red Rocks, just amazing. "Hello my name is" off your new album is my favorite piece by you right now :) I'm still learning production and heard someone say one should expect to write no less than 2 hours of music that is rubbish before actually creating music they feel good about and sounds good- do you agree? Sometimes progress feels slow and tedious. Any cool exercises for people still learning?
I had to fill about fifty 90 minute DAT tapes with total shit before I released anything under my own name.
I started making music at 11 and eventually released my first track at the age of 35.
How badly do you want it?
OTT. Sire. The king of the bassline. I want to write the words "thank you" 1000 times on a brick and then float that brick onto your roof with a grip of balloons.
I caught you in Denver last weekend, must have been my 7th or 8th time seeing you. Every time I look around at the sweaty people dancing around me at one of your shows it seems like it very well might be one of the happiest places on Earth. Smiling faces everywhere, no one can help from moving their body somehow. Your music is a very consistent part of my life and interwoven with some of the best memories I'll have. THANK YOU so very much for doing what you do and being the insane perfectionist that you are, it is truly inspiring.
Great show this summer at Emmaboda festival! I actually used the fact that you were playing there to get 8 friends to come along. The show was stunning and groovy (as was your show at Emmaboda 2013 as well!) I really hope you go back there (perhaps with the all-seeing I ?) You playing there makes it worth the 9 hour trip! Anyway! Can you name a few of your favorite films (and also what you like about them)?Ott responded on 10/16/2015
