Congratulations on Fairchildren. A wonderful album and I was glad to have been able to contribute, all be it a very small contribution.
Now to my question. Would you ever consider listening to music written by your fans who are also musicians or is there just not enough time?
(This is the message I should have sent last night instead of the drunken nonsense which I hope you duly deleted! Sorry, I don't normally do that kind of thing. Ian)
The problem with listening to people's music is that, no matter how much they insist they don't, they generally want an opinion and my opinion is worthless because I can't be relied upon for honesty.
If I think their music is great I will say it is great, but if I think it is rubbish I will still say it is great because I don't want to be the person who destroys somebody's creativity with my worthless, negative, bullshit opinion.
So I just don't.
Guten Tag Ott! We are a group of young independent filmmakers from Germany and would like to use some of your music for our project called (as a working title) "No more things" It is a story about love, hate and the desert. How can we connect? By the way, great show in Portland! A good friend called me here in Germany live from your set to share the experience, thanks a lot, except for the bad connection it lifted my day! Cheers and greetings ChristianOtt responded on 10/14/2015 Next question
Hello ott, I'm working on deciding your code in delta unit plus. So far I've come to believe it has some correlation to Delia Derbyshire and her studio. She was one of the developers of electronic music and I also know she was obsessed with the correlation between numbers and sound and how harmonies have direct correlation to the structure of our ohyaical existence. I still have no idea what the numbers mean yet but I think it is related to
Maurice as well. Possibly a melody? Am I on the right track? Thanks!! I'm a huge fan, so excited for red rocks 2016 already have my tickets.
