Were you surprised to discover that you are a musical genius ?
Thanks for the compliment but I don't think I ever did.
When I started I was considerably below average as a musician [I was expelled from Grade 1 violin for being talentless] and I didn't do anything remotely listenable until I'd been fiddling with synths for ten years.
But I worked and worked and worked and practiced and practiced, every day, to the exclusion of everything else, until I'd exhausted all the possibilities and made all of the bad sounds. Then I did something I liked, seventeen years after I first set out.
There are loads of people more talented than me and some real, genuine, musical geniuses. I'm not one of them, I don't think. I was just determined.
Hey Ott, do you like video games? Your love for old audio technology reminds me of people that love old gaming consoles from the 70’s and 80’s. What type do you enjoy? I recently played “Braid” and “Journey”, two unusual games that struck gold a few years back. I highly recommend.
Do you like video game music? You should check out OC Remix. The site hosts some quality game music for free. Also, if you’re looking to fuck about with pre-made melodies while creating your own arrangements, you should try submitting a track to OC Remix. I’d love to hear a submission from you.
as a European from a nation of 'liberal' tendencies, what do you make of the migration situation in Germany and Sweden?
These countries are predicted to economically decline severely in the next couple of decades. Do you fear something similar in Britain/France?
where is the balance between an artists work ethic and awareness of current affairs that requires a sterner disposition, one often at odds with an 'artist's creative zone'?
obviously many artists can incorporate such polarizing topics through various mediums; do you find it enriching or distracting?
