I recently discovered Umberloid. I can't stop listening to Exit Chapel Perilous. Neon Tetra is also superb. Were you and Chris Barker just hanging out together and then these wonderful tunes came together magically? What can you tell me about the TOT robot?
Chris and I have been friends since 1986 and we played in our first band together. We lost contact in about 1991 and found each other again in about 2000 via the miracle of the internet.
We arranged to meet up at my house and he ended up providing for the bass on 'Solstice' on Hallucinogen In Dub. That's why it's called the 'Warwick Bassmonkey' mix.
We enjoyed doing that and ended up writing a couple of tracks together from scratch. These became the two Umberloid tunes. We did plan to make and album, and we still may one day, but it can be difficult finding the time.
He is a founder member of Ott & The All-Seeing I too and he now lives in the same town as me so we see quite a lot of each other. He's awesome, and probably the best musician I've ever met.
It was fun to get a tour of your old studio on the Twisted DVD. Any plans to show us some pictures or footage of your current setup? (Sorry if someone already asked.)Ott responded on 06/13/2016 Next question
When you play live, do you play the unmastered versions of your songs so you have access to all the individual channels/tracks as opposed to the mastered versions with all the tracks mixed down?Ott responded on 06/13/2016
