Hey Ott! I had the pleasure of seeing you for the first time last fall at Sacred Vibrations Music Festival here in Michigan. It was a dream to see you in such an intimate setting & outdoors! I read a previous answer from you stating you prefer small venues where you can see your fans faces, and I was wondering if you have a favorite intimate venue that you play at in the US? Are there any small venues you'd like to play at that you haven't yet? Hope I can catch you in Grand Rapids, MI sometime at The Intersection! :)
P.S. Your vinyls have the best sound quality I believe I have ever heard. THANK YOU!
I particularly enjoy playing at The Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO, The Middle East in Cambridge, MA, Cervantes in Denver CO, The Mishawaka in Fort Collins, CO, The Red Room in Vancouver, BC, The Parish in Austin, TX, and some mental, raging hayloft in Fargo, ND, the name of which escapes me.
[Yes, I am very pleased with the vinyl. It wildly exceeded my expectations.]
Hi Mr. Ott,
I remember you stating that you are mixing your kick and bass (and possibly snare) a little louder on tracks and then letting the mastering engineer tame the dynamics. So do you think if I work with a limiter on my master buss at a moderate level while mixing it would screw up my mix in general. I wouldn't want to be surprised if I had it professionally mastered and lost some punch. I've heard arguments on both side so decided to ask your opinion. Yes, and I know what you think of opinions... They are like assholes, everyone has one :0) ...I always remind my daughter. Thanks and sending good vibes for your new album.
What is one of your favorite elements of Dub music? What attracted you to such style?Ott responded on 02/12/2018
