I just love being able to pick your brain on this. I've read that you dont have a musical degree/formation, have you ever felt limited by it? What was the first song you ever made that u were proud of
I've never felt limited by anything. I've never wanted to be a music teacher or a session musician reading from a score so a degree would have been of no use to me.
The first song I was ever truly proud of is one called 'Love Thy Neighbour' which I recorded in about 1992. I found it recently while listening through old DAT tapes and it still sounds brilliant. I considered releasing it as a free download but in the end I decided to keep it for myself.
What would you do when a director asks you to make a soundtrack for a movie or a game. Just like Solar FIelds with the game Mirror's edge. Is this something you would do?Ott responded on 11/16/2011 Next question
Ever thought about, or tried, working with more obscure timesigs? 9/4, 15/16, 7/8? ...7/5??? Do you think it's even possible to 'groove' and 'dance' such preposterous beats? You know you want to...Ott responded on 11/16/2011
