do you think you could give us a short run-through of how you start building a mix up? like certain thingsyou listen for when setting levels or panning, or anything particular aboutthe process, thanks

I always start with the kick drum. Then I build the rest of the drums up from that. Once they are sounding reasonable I add the bass. Then I add in the rest of the rhythmic instruments until the groove is working as a whole.

Next I introduce all the lead instruments and once I have worked through all of the sounds I pull it all back to zero and start again. I'll do this probably five times until it all clicks into place.
