Production forums contain essays on EQing and endless discussions about different EQs and techniques. I just use ableton EQ to clear up low end for bass. Did I miss something? Is EQing that involved?
It is as involved as you want it to be but it isn't the be-all and end-all of sonic manipulation.
It is common for novice sound engineers to be obsessed with eq [or, more irritatingly, mic preamps these days] but, important as it is, it's just another tool.
If you know what it does and you find you don't use much then that's your sound and your process. Some people I know use digital reverb on everything - I don't like how it sounds and so I don't have much use for it.
please tell me what kind of astral thoughts were crossing your mind when you made daises and rubies , that song is THA TRIPOtt responded on 02/08/2012 Next question
Can you hook up a webcamera so we can see how you go on making a track? :) And btw, what do you use in your "transparent distortion" process? :)Ott responded on 02/08/2012
