Hi Ott, When working on a song, I mix as I go... track effects, perfecting transitions, ect. so when i'm done the song it's pretty complete. Is it common to do it this way or is it less productive.
It's not an uncommon way to work and in many ways makes a lot of sense. Leaving every decision until the end is certainly possible but, in my opinion, not terribly practical and is really only for the chronically indecisive.
I like to commit to sounds as early as possible and I find that this approach means tracks develop an identity sooner and end up stronger as a result.
Ever considered writing production tutorials? I'd pay good money to read your advice on recording/producing, and give my back teeth to spend a day in the studio with you.Ott responded on 02/08/2012 Next question
I'm so happy and excited that you're coming to Turkey in June.
What makes you laugh the most these days?
Thank you, for making and sharing your glorious music...
