Longtime Live user here, its been my main and only daw workhorse for years. Would you reccomend "upgrading" to Cubase/Nuendo? In your experience, what can they do that Live can't? Workflow difference?

I don't like Live's arrange window or transport logic, I find the automation fiddly, I hate they way they have approached the problem of latency, despair that it will receive MTC but not send it and LOATHE the fact that you are irrevocably stuck with their unintuitive, mostly TWO-HANDED key commands.

Cmd+U to quantise? Obviously!

I mostly applaud Ableton for thinking laterally when designing Live and on stage it has no rival but sometimes I get the impression they do pointlessly shit things just to be different. Like have the track controls on the right-hand side of the arrange screen. Uh?

I wouldn't suggest you switch to anything if you are getting the results you want. No sequencer is inherently better than any other.

I've been using Cubase since 1989 so the Steinberg 'right-click toolbox' paradigm is completely ingrained in my psyche. If I'd started on Ableton Live I'd probably think Cubase was an annoying bag of shit.
