Can u tell me about the live set up you're using to play with your band, please? I have seen many new machines in your rehearsals pictures,(2 macs etc) and i'am SO intrigued. Thanks a lot!
Matt is playing a Tama Starclassic Bubinga kit with one rack tom and an additional timbale.
Chris plays a custom Wal bass.
Nick plays a Line 6 Variax electric guitar and a Variax acoustic guitar through a Macbook Pro running Ableton Live which is hosting an instance of NI Guitar Rig. His vocals also run through a channel of Ableton Live with various effects and a Korg MS20 which I control from my rig. Nick's Macbook Pro is synced to mine and also receives controller data from my setup.
I have another Macbook Pro with Ableton Live which runs the various sequences and audio stems, click tracks and also hosts my live synths which I control from an Akai MPK25 and a Novation SL MkII 49. I also have a Korg Kaossilator Pro and a Kaoss Pad 3.
All this is submixed with a Presonus Studiolive 24:4:2 which also provides our onstage monitoring via the Presonus Qmix system. The band control their monitor mixes wirelessly using their iPads.
We all use Ultimate Ears Pro7 IEMs.
I find it interesting that youve seemed to navigate your music career in reverse from the norm. Usually kids will start a band in their garage, then go solo, then engineer for others. Care to comment?Ott responded on 11/07/2012 Next question

do you intend to keep doing live shows (fingers crossed)?
